Com o tema Ethnographic Writing in Two Directions: towards self and towards other, a oficina será apresentada em inglês ou espanhol, na sala do Centro de Estudos Ameríndios (CEstA), às 14h30.

This workshop for PhD students is intended to be a collaborative reflection on the various uses of writing within anthropology. Rather than focusing solely on writing as the cumulative stage of the anthropological project, one directed towards an anticipated reader, we will also explore writing as a methodological intervention in the fieldwork process; writing for oneself. In this vein, we will look at ways of writing which – although they may never appear in a thesis or article or report – nevertheless help us to form our thinking, our relationships with our interlocutors, and our sense of self. There will be a couple of optional short pieces to read beforehand as well as the opportunity to bring along and to discuss your own writing.
